We’ve got some exciting news to share with you. Shell Protocol is about to galvanize your DeFi experience with a generous grant from the Arbitrum DAO. Use your favorite DeFi pools, stake those protocols’ tokens and get ARB rewards through the Shell super dapp. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming program.

ARB Grant Specifics

Thanks to the Arbitrum DAO, Shell Protocol has secured a whopping 375,000 ARB tokens to distribute to users over the next ~90 days. The program kicks off on June 25, 2024 and concludes September 16, 2024. We’ll be rolling out roughly 4,150-4,200 ARB tokens each day.

This grant is through the STIP.B (Short Term Incentives Program - Bridge). To review Shell’s proposal, check out this link.

Why All of This?

Our mission is to reward you for engaging with your favorite Arbitrum DeFi protocols while also boosting Shell’s key performance indicators. Here’s what we aim to achieve:

• Volume: Increase transaction volume on Shell by encouraging frequent trades and interactions within the dapp.
• Daily Active Users (wallets): Grow our community of active users by providing attractive incentives and creating an engaged user base.
• Total Value Locked (TVL): Add more liquidity to DeFi protocols, strengthen the ecosystem and enhance trading opportunities.
• User Feedback: Gather insights to improve the Shell dapp experience, making it more user-friendly.

Program Details: How It Works

Pool Selection & Rewards

Three pools will be incentivized at a time, rotating them weekly to keep things fresh and exciting. Here’s the breakdown of how rewards are allocated across pools:

1. Community Choice Pools: 50% of daily emissions (~2075-2100 ARB tokens/day)
2. Proteus Pools for Arbitrum Native Tokens: 20% of daily emissions (~830-840 ARB tokens/day)
3. Featured Pools: 30% of daily emissions (~1245-1260 ARB tokens/day)

Why Rotate Pools?

Rotating pools shows how you interact with the Shell interface, helps improve the platform, and educates new users on how to use Shell. Pools will rotate every week, with the exception of featured pools that rotate every 1-2 weeks.

Voting Procedure

Votes on which pools to incentivize will be held on Snapshot and weighted by veSHELL balance. Although these votes are considered “opinion polls” from a governance perspective, the results will be honored. Proteus and community choice pools will have weekly votes, while featured pools will not. Additionally, the community choice pool cannot be a Proteus pool.

How to Earn and Claim Rewards

1. Deposit: Enter eligible pools via the Shell dapp.
2. Stake: Your tokens will be automatically staked in a Curve-style staking contract.
3. Earn: Rewards are claimable as soon as you stake.
4. Claim: Head to the Rewards tab in the Shell dapp to claim your earned ARB tokens.
5. Repeat!

New pools will be selected each week, so check back and move your tokens to continue earning rewards.

The 3 Incentivized Pools

1. Community Choice Pool
   • Daily Emissions: 50% (~2075-2100 ARB tokens/day)
   • Eligible Pools: Any DeFi pool supported by the Shell dapp, excluding Proteus pools.
   • Rotation: Rotates after weekly vote on Snapshot, weighted by veSHELL balance.
   • Goal: Showcase the Shell super dapp’s improved user experience of popular DeFi protocols.
   • Notes: Each pool may be selected only once during the program to support ecosystem diversity and promote new opportunities.
2. Proteus Pool for Arbitrum Native Tokens
   • Daily Emissions: 20% (~830-840 ARB tokens/day)
   • Eligible Pools: Any Proteus pool consisting of one or more Arbitrum native tokens.
   • Rotation: Rotates after weekly vote on Snapshot, weighted by veSHELL balance.
   • Goal: Support Arbitrum native tokens.
3. Featured Pool
   • Daily Emissions: 30% (~1245-1260 ARB tokens/day)
   • Eligible Pools: All pools supported by the Shell dapp.
   • Rotation: Every 1-2 weeks (not eligible for voting).
   • Goal: Highlight Shell Protocol’s features and new dapp integrations.
